Rooftops in Medellin You Can’t Miss: The Best Views, Food, and Vibes

Rooftops in Medellin

Medellin, known as the “City of Eternal Spring,” offers breathtaking views from almost any angle—but nothing compares to experiencing the city from its many stunning rooftops. Visiting a rooftop is a must-do on any traveler’s itinerary.

There are tens of rooftops in Medellin, and you can spend weeks visiting all of them. We decided to keep this list short and to handpick what we consider the top rooftops of 4 different areas (Poblado, City Centre, Laureles, and Manrique) to give you a different view of the city. Beside those four, we have created a short list of “bonus”, where we give you some others that are worth visiting. Each offers its own unique blend of food, drinks, atmosphere, and, of course, panoramic views. Trust us—you’ll want to make room in your schedule to visit at least one!

Perched high on the 22nd floor of a building near the mall El Tesoro, Mamba Negra is a rooftop with an almost 360° view of Medellin’s skyline, this spot offers not just spectacular sights but also an elevated dining experience. Their menu, described as “cooking around the embers” blends Spanish, Asian, and Latin American influences into creative dishes, while the Mediterranean-inspired brunches are a treat for weekend visitors. The sleek, elegant bar serves up signature cocktails that make it perfect for a romantic date night.

Getting to Mamba Negra is a easy reacheble by Uber or taxi— This is their Instagram

Located in Medellin’s bustling city center, Tropico Rooftop offers a slice of tropical paradise above the urban jungle. The rooftop’s vibrant, laid-back vibe is perfect for a relaxing Sunday by the pool or a casual afternoon sipping cocktails while taking in the sweeping views of downtown Medellin. The food here is as good as the drinks—fresh, flavorful, and just right for pairing with the rooftop’s chill atmosphere.

You’d probably love that Tropico Rooftop is not in the touristic area so it feels a bit more local. This is their Instagram

Heads up: This is not located in Calle 8.  It is located in Laureles neighborhood, Calle 8 is a more laid-back, yet still lively, option. This rooftop offers an upbeat atmosphere with live music performances that set the tone for a fun night out with friends. Besides its signature cocktails, Calle 8  is known for its variety of drinks and dishes and even offers cocktail workshops for those who want to get hands-on with their drink experience.

4. Rooftops in Medellin – Comuna 3: Hangar 45

For a truly one-of-a-kind rooftop experience, head to Hangar 45 in the Manrique neighborhood (Comuna 3). This is totally out of the touristic loop in the northern part of the city. This terrace stands out with its unique airplane theme—you’ll find yourself dining inside an actual adapted aircraft! But that’s not all. The rooftop also offers live music, a diverse food and cocktail menu, and, for the adventurous, helicopter tours that take off from the on-site helipad. The views from here will take your breath away, and the unforgettable setting is perfect for a memorable evening with friends or family.

Hangar 45 is located in the famous “Carrera 45” of Manrique, or simply “La 45”. It’s a street that is only accessible by Metro-Plus Buses. So most likely the Uber or Taxi, will drop you off at the corner with Calle 69, and then you just walk few meters. But trust us, the extra effort is well worth it for the one-of-a-kind experience that awaits.

Bonus!

As there are so many rooftops en Medellín to choose from, we considered that only 4 weren’t enough, here are 3 more that we loved.

  • La Deriva A small beach between the mountains, located in the Click Clack hotel, offers delicious food and drinks and a pool to cool off on hot afternoons in Medellin
  • Naufrago Bar  Just like La Deriva, this one is located in the Click Clack hotel. A rooftop on the ninth floor that will make you feel like you are in your living room, with live music, signature cocktails, and luxury entrees. A place that will dazzle.
  • Ritwal Although it is not a rooftop, this restaurant is located between the mountains, with a spectacular view towards the south of the city.
