Exotic Fruits Tour

In this tour we will guide you through the labyrinth of one of Medellín’s main indoor markets. We will stop at different fruit stalls to taste over 10 exotic fruits, most of which you are likely to never have seen before (we’re not talking mangos and pineapples!).

We will introduce you to some of the vendors, and explain the benefits of each fruit as well as how to recognize ripeness/quality. At the end, there will be a chance to sit down at Don Rigo’s “smoothie bar”, where you can enjoy a fresh fruit juice/smoothie. Join us on this tasty adventure and make sure to come hungry!

Value Added Tax in Colombia is 19%. According to Colombian law, a VAT tax exemption can be applied on touristic services for non-residents who provide (1)a copy of the main page of their passport, (2) as well as the tourist entry stamp (types PIP-3, PIP-5, PIP-6, PIP-10 or visas TP-7, TP-11, TP-12). We just completed the exotic fruit tour with Sofía. This was our second Real City tour, the first being the Barrio Transformation tour which, in our opinion is an absolute must. They hit another home run with this one. We loved it. The market is super busy and traffic around Minorista is quite heavy so it takes a bit to get an Uber at the end, so be prepared for that.

Sophia gave an excellent tour of the fruit market. If you would like to go someplace, we’re very few tourist go and learn about exotic fruits that you’ve never heard of this is the place for you. The tour was very informative and we learned about the medicinal properties of fruit and where they came from, we got to taste some of the most unusual food I’ve ever eaten. Sophia was wonderful
