Indigenous Social Tour

Step off the beaten path and into the living story of Colombia’s Indigenous people.

Join us for an intimate experience with a dual perspective: guided by a local expert and a member of the Embera Indigenous tribe.

You’ll meet an Embera female leader, who works with an NGO helping displaced indigenous people in the city.

Together with her, we visit the homes of the indigenous in Medellín, hear their story, and learn directly about their culture.

We finish at the NGO’s facilities to see the important work being done to support the community.

More than just a tour, this is a cultural exchange that challenges myths, breaks taboos, and supports real impact (50% of the profits go to the NGO).

Book today and connect with the Colombia few ever see — but all should know.

FAQ's

This tour is a partnership with an NGO that works with displaced Embera indigenous families.

This experience offers a chance to meet an Embera community member, learn about their culture, visit their dwellings to gain insight into the realities faced by indigenous people in Colombia today and visit the NGO that is doing an heroic effort to help them — all with the guidance of an indigenous person and a professional local guide.

By signing up, you’re supporting the NGO and in consequence, the Indigenous people in Medellin.

IMPORTANT – MEETING POINT – IMPORTANT

This is a tour of the real Medellín — not a touristy area — so please read and follow these instructions very carefully. The meeting point can be confusing, and punctuality is key.

📍 Meeting Point: Outside a public school that has two campuses. Read carefully!

Your guide will be wearing a red t-shirt and holding a red umbrella.

🚗 Copy & paste this address into Uber or your map app:

I.E HÉCTOR ABAD GÓMEZ, Sección Dario Londoño Cardona

✅ Choose the one that includes:

  • “Sección Dario Londoño Cardona”

  • Calle 44 or Carrera 44

❌ Do not choose the one that says “Calle 50” — that’s the wrong campus.
